Standard rear-axle steering provides up to 10 degrees of steering angle, helping reduce the wall-to-wall turning circle to 35.8 feet. The EQS 580 4MATIC also offers additional comfort, driver-assistance, and personalization equipment depending on the configuration you select.
Available Exclusive and Pinnacle equipment packages add selected comfort and convenience features. Package contents may include multicontour front seats with massage, rapid-heating front seats, heated front seat belts, additional climate-control functions, and enhanced cabin-air filtration. Our team can help you compare current package contents for the specific EQS Sedan you’re considering.
Performance & Powertrain
Every 2027 EQS Sedan uses a 122-kWh lithium-ion battery and an 800-volt electrical architecture. The updated electric drive system also includes a high-efficiency two-speed transmission designed to support efficient power delivery across different driving conditions.
Charging capabilities include:
- DC charging at a compatible 800-volt station: Up to 350 kW.
- DC charging at a compatible 400-volt station: Up to 175 kW.
- DC charging from 10% to 80%: Approximately 27 minutes under suitable conditions.
- AC charging: Up to 9.6 kW, with a listed 10%-to-100% charging time of approximately 15 hours using compatible equipment.
- Charging connections: J1772 for AC charging and a North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector for DC charging.
Actual charging time and power depend on factors such as battery temperature, starting state of charge, and the capabilities of the charging station. Peak charging power will also vary throughout a charging session. If you have questions about home or public charging, our team at Mercedes-Benz of Abilene can help you understand the charging setup for the 2027 EQS Sedan.
DC fast charging infrastructure data
The EQS 450+ is rear-wheel drive. The EQS 500 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC use fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel drive with Torque Shift to manage power between their two electric motors.
Standard AIRMATIC air suspension uses electronically controlled air springs, intelligent damping, and automatic four-wheel level control. With applicable connected services active, the damping system can also use Car-to-X road information to respond to certain upcoming road-surface conditions.
Standard rear-axle steering provides up to 4.5 degrees of steering angle on the EQS 450+ and EQS 500 4MATIC. The EQS 580 4MATIC increases that capability to 10 degrees. At lower speeds, rear-axle steering can make the EQS easier to maneuver, while at higher speeds it can support greater stability.
Navigation with Electric Intelligence can account for traffic, terrain, temperature, battery state of charge, and available charging stations when planning your route. Charging recommendations and estimated arrival charge levels can change as driving and road conditions change.
Interior, Comfort & Cargo
The 2027 EQS Sedan seats five passengers. It has a 126.4-inch wheelbase, measures 207.7 inches long, and provides 41.6 inches of front legroom and 40.4 inches of rear legroom.
Cargo capacity ranges from 22 cu ft behind the rear seats to 63 cu ft with the rear seats folded.
Standard cabin equipment includes ventilated front seats and a rear-seat comfort package with power-adjustable heated rear seats, comfort head restraints, armrests, and wireless charging for compatible mobile devices.
Available MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment adds two 13.1-inch displays. Depending on equipment and supported applications, rear passengers can use the screens for entertainment and compatible video-conferencing functions. Individual apps and connected services may require accounts, subscriptions, or an active data connection.
You can also personalize the EQS Sedan through MANUFAKTUR, including the Made to Measure program with a selection of more than 100 exterior paint colors. Available interior choices include Nappa leather appointments and additional trim finishes. Multicontour front seats with massage functions are available depending on the model and equipment package you choose.

Technology & Infotainment
Standard MBUX Hyperscreen stretches across a 55-inch display surface beneath a single curved glass panel. For 2027, the system uses MB.OS with fourth-generation MBUX and an MBUX Virtual Assistant that incorporates generative AI for supported conversational requests.
MBUX Navigation integrates Google Cloud’s Automotive AI Agent for supported voice interaction with maps and navigation. Standard MBUX Surround Navigation can also display a three-dimensional representation of the vehicle’s surroundings alongside route guidance.
Navigation with Electric Intelligence can calculate charging stops and adjust routing recommendations using battery charge, traffic, terrain, temperature, and charging availability. Mercedes-Benz includes seven years of specified navigation and connected services, with continued access after the included period potentially requiring renewal.
The 2027 EQS also offers available steer-by-wire technology. Instead of relying on a conventional mechanical steering-column connection, the system transmits steering commands electronically and is designed to reduce steering effort in certain situations, including maneuvering and parking.
Steer-by-wire is available equipment rather than standard on every EQS Sedan. Standard models use an electromechanical steering system.
The Mercedes-Benz Digital Vehicle Key offers compatible device-based access and vehicle-start functions, depending on device compatibility, account setup, and vehicle equipment.
The updated EQS also offers next-generation DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps with adaptive lighting functions. Specific projection and high-beam features vary by equipment and operating conditions.

Safety & Driver Assistance
The 2027 EQS Sedan includes PRE-SAFE® occupant-protection technology, which can initiate selected protective measures when certain potential collision conditions are detected. PRE-SAFE Sound can generate a brief sound intended to help prepare occupants’ hearing for some collision-related noise.
These technologies support occupant protection but cannot prevent every collision or eliminate the possibility of injury. Seat belts should always be worn correctly.
The updated EQS uses 10 external cameras, up to five radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors to support its driver-assistance and parking technology. Mercedes-Benz groups the updated assistance functions under its MB.DRIVE technology portfolio.
Standard assistance features include MB.DRIVE ASSIST functions and Distance Assist DISTRONIC®, subject to operating conditions and applicable Digital Extras activation. Additional assistance and parking functions may be available through factory equipment, software updates, or supported Mercedes-Benz services.
AIRMATIC with intelligent damping can also use available Car-to-X road information to respond to certain upcoming surface irregularities when the necessary data and services are available.

The EQS includes a HEPA cabin-air filtration system designed to reduce airborne particles entering the passenger compartment. Mercedes-Benz states that the filter removes more than 99.65% of particles from incoming air under specified testing conditions.
